Our Dallas County Master Gardener Association State Awards Committee meets annually in November to choose our Texas Master Gardener Awards submissions for the year and to plan the writing and submitting of these awards. This committee is open to any DCMGA who wishes to participate or wants to have input into the selections. Past winners are automatically included as advisors for the next year's committee. Deadline for awards submissions to the Texas Master Gardener Association is January and the awards are presented each year at the Texas Master Gardener state conference held each year in April or May.
For more information visit the www.tmgaawards.com
or e-mail DCMGA member Beverly Sutton, btsutton@sbcglobal.net to volunteer.

NOMINATION COMMITTEE

Chaired by the Dallas County Master Gardener immediate Past President, the Nominating Committee is responsible for assembling a slate of nominees from which the current Board of Directors may fill any vacancies on the Dallas County Master Gardener Association Board of Directors. The committee begins soliciting volunteers in July and presents a final slate of nominees to the Board in October. This committee also solicits volunteers for Texas Master Gardener representative/alternates from Dallas County. Members of the Nominating Committee cannot be current board members or seeking state office themselves. Any member interested in volunteering to serve on the Nominating Committee should contact the immediate Past President of the association to volunteer before May each year.

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE

The Hospitality Committee is an internal Master Gardener Association support committee composed of members who enjoy cooking, entertaining, and/or hosting of events. Being a member of this committee only indicates a willingness to be contacted and to help if possible and in no way automatically commits a volunteer to any particular event. Contact 2008 Chairperson, Shari Hartrick to be added to the list of willing helpers.
